We're back!
Join us July1st to July 3rd, 2022.
The 2022 Cobourg Waterfront Festival
is being organized now!

After a hiatus of two years, the Town of Cobourg, Cobourg Lions Club and Rotary Club of Cobourg have announced that the Cobourg Waterfront Festival will return in 2022.

Thank-you to all who have attended the festival in years gone by. Thanks also to our crafters, merchants, artists, sponsors and the legion of Rotary and Lions club members and volunteers who have made this annual event the largest in Ontario. The 2022 event is just a few days away and we hope you will plan to be with us July 1st through July 3rd. In the meantime, please, stay safe.

We anticipate large crowds this year so please consider taking our FREE SHUTTLE leaving every 30 minutes from the Northumberland Mall and Cobourg Community Centre.

We also ask that you leave your pets at home. Guide dogs are permitted but pets are not due to the expected large crowd with many children also attending. We respectfully ask that people leave their pets at home where they won't be stressed by crowds and find themselves in a potentially reactive situation.

The roots of the festival go back 53 years ago when a small art and craft show was held on beautiful Victoria Beach for Canada Day in 1967. The event included a fireworks display put on by local fire fighters to celebrate Canada's Centennial.

In 1987 the Cobourg Waterfront Festival was formally launched when the Cobourg Rotary Club and the Cobourg Lions Club became involved along with a volunteer committee of town citizens. Now, 33 years later, the Festival has become one of the largest summer festivals in Ontario, attracting tens of thousands of people to the community over the Canada Day long weekend.

We hope you'll visit us in 2022. While here, take some time to stroll downtown (just two blocks away) and visit our many shops and restaurants. Our magnificent town hall (shown above in a photo by Jean Simard), Victoria Hall, is a must see. We think you'll be impressed. Who knows... maybe you'll become one of the visitors to the festival who decides to set down roots in our extraordinary community.
